Listos California is excited to announce that Regional Disaster Ready Summits are back! Leading up to and through Emergency Preparedness Month in September, Listos California will be hosting one-day convenings in regions throughout the state to give local leaders an opportunity to deepen connections, learn about California’s emergency response system, and strengthen community resilience.

Last year’s unprecedented flooding and this year’s record-breaking heat make one thing clear: natural disasters will continue to threaten Californians. As climate change intensifies natural hazards and makes the disaster landscape more complex,  Californians in high-risk areas must prepare to stay safe in emergencies.

This year’s events will prepare participants to respond swiftly to disaster needs and build resilience in California’s high-risk areas. Attendees will get the chance to strengthen their connections with their region’s Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), creating stronger and more responsive networks that can activate during times of emergency. Community leaders will also get to participate in interactive activities to learn problem-solving tools necessary for closing gaps in disaster preparedness. Ready Summit participants will leave the event equipped with valuable information and resources to help their neighborhoods become more rooted in relationships, resilient in mindset, and ready for action in the face of disasters.
